Had it for the first time for lunch yesterday. I got the BBQ wings & macaroni and cheese; my coworker for the jerk wings & macaroni and cheese.
The wings were AMAZING! The MAC was pretty good as well. The only thing that bothered me was this was the 4th time I tried getting beef patties and they were sold out lol So I'm not sure if they stop making them at a certain time or the day orrrrr what.
Other than that, I will be back. -

Today was my second time coming to the establishment. The first time everything was ok no problems. But this time I can in around 11:30am for the lunch special. There were three people in front of me and not one time did any of us get greeted. They look you straight in your face and wait for you to speak!!!
Upon my turn to order I ordered at the cash register. A woman came from the back and the cashier told the woman "I just took her order." The other woman stated "Do you want to give me her order." I'm waiting for her to repeat what I order. She looks at me for me to tell her what I order. What's the point of having a cashier if she isn't the one to take the orders?
The woman goes to the back to get my order. She places the order on the counter for the cashier to bag. The cashier then rings up my order after the woman places it on the counter. I paid with a card. She hands me my card and receipt. I proceed to get out of the line. She states "Can you sign that." I'm thinking did you ask me to sign it? At some places you don't need to sign. If you don't ask me to sign or give me a pen, I assume there wasn't a need to.
The lunch special comes with a soda. I had to ask the cashier about the soda. I asked what kind of sodas are available; since you cannot see over the counter if your under 5'6. She states "only RC and orange Fanta are cold." I replied that's fine it does not have to be cold what do you have? She repeats "only RC and orange Fanta are cold." I stated just give me the RC, because I am over her and her attitude. If you don't want to provide customer service maybe you should get another job!!!
The food was ok. I want a beef patty and cocoa bread, but was told they only had chicken patties. Who wants a chicken patty!! I ordered the curry chicken lunch special; which comes with rice/ peas, cabbage and a soda. The chicken was ok could have been seasoned better. The rice and peas were soggy from the extra sauce from the chicken, rice was over cooked, hard and bland.
As stated in other reviews there is no sense of urgency, customer service, or pride here. All of the staff customer service is terrible!! I will not be returning. -

FINALLY! I came to this restaurant with a craving for jerk chicken and this place did not disappoint. I'll begin by admitting my bias - being a Jamaican myself, I walked into the restaurant and didn't hear any strong Jamaican accents so I immediately thought to make a run for it.. (Sounds crazy, but I've been hurt in the past lol).
Anyway, I'm glad I was too hungry to pass this up because the food was delicious! I got a small jerk chicken meal with rice & peas and cabbage (with brown stew gravy over the rice & peas), and I was very impressed! The staff gave me a warm greeting and were very attentive. Looking forward to visiting this spot again - big up unu self Jam Doung!!
*Came back a few days later and it was consistent.. The curry chicken/oxtail were spot on! -

Definitely one of the better "jamaican" spots in DC. I put jamaican in quotes because this isn't authentic in the least bit but it's flavorful and the price is right so who's complaining! They offer your typical jamaican dishes and they come in three different portion sizes. They get busy on the weekends especially around close so be ready to wait, the staff is real cool and helpful and willing to accommodate you if they run out of something. Overall, pretty good food, good location (you'll have to find parking on side street b/c it's right off n. Capitol) and friendly staff

I absolutely love this place. Jerk wings and chicken. Curried shrimp. King fish. The sides. The gravys and the patties. Everything taste soooo good. The staff is so friendly. They're like family. One of the best authentic jamaican spots in the dmv!! Period!
